Recipe #89 | Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf

Making the Banana Chocolate Chip Loaf

Here is a grain free loaf that is a perfect post WOD treat 😉 Made with sweet ripe Bananas, 70% Dark Chocolate Chips, and Walnuts. This is an easy recipe to make with all the over ripe bananas on your counter.


Dry Ingredients:
1 Cup Almond Flour
1 Cup Chestnut Flour
1/2 Cup Milled Golden Flax Seeds
1/4 Cup Coconut Flour
1 tsp Sea Salt
1.5 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Fresh Ground Nutmeg
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Wet Ingredients:
5 Small Organic Bananas
1/2 Cup Coconut Sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
1/2 Cup Coconut Ghee or Coconut Oil
5 Pastured Eggs
1/4 Cup Almond Milk
Add Last:
1 Cup Crushed Walnuts
1 Cup 70% or more Dark Chocolate Chips


1.Preheat Oven to 350F
2. In medium sized bowl add all the dry ingredients and mixed together until evenly combined
3. In another medium bowl crack all eggs and Almond Milk. Mix together with an electric mixer until frothy, about 1 minute
4. In a third large bowl crush Bananas using a fork then add Coconut Sugar, Maple Syrup, Vanilla, and Coconut Ghee
5. Use electric mixed to mix the Banana mixture until smooth and evenly combined
6. Add frothy egg mixture into the Banana Mixture and mix till evenly combined
7. Add the Dry Ingredients and use electric mixer to combine
8. Add the Crushed Walnuts and Chocolate Chips then mix with a spatula until evenly combined
9. Divide the final mixture between 2 loaf pans that are greased and lined with parchment paper
10. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes at 350F
11. Test the Loaf with a small knife or toothpick and when ready allow to cool on cooling racks
12. After cooling in pans for 10 minutes remove and allow to cool on racks for an additional 20 minutes before cutting in
