Recipe #79 | Maple Fennel Beef And Pork Burgers

Making the Maple Fennel Grassfed Beef and Pork Burger

Here is a simple recipe that has a flavorful combination sure to please your taste buds and nourish your body at the same time. Fennel Seeds are a very popular ingredient used in Southern Italy and one that I have become very familiar with growing up. Fennel Seeds adds great flavor and has amazing health benefits including concentrated amounts of Iron, Copper, Potassium and Magnesium just to name a few… Fennel is also a symbol of strength and longevity and also believed by the ancient Greeks to increase courage.

 

Ingredients:

1 pound Grassfed Ground Beef
1 pound Pastured Ground Pork
1 Cup Finely Diced Yellow Onion (1/2 medium onion)
1 Cup Finely chopped Green Onion
3/4 Cup Chopped Italian Parsley
2 Tbsp Maple Syrup (grade 2)
1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tbsp Fennel Seeds
1 tsp Dried Oregano
1 tsp Fenugreek Powder
Sea Salt
Black Pepper

 

Process:

1.Preheat Oven to 450F
2. In large mixing bowl combine beef and pork
3. Crush fennel seeds with Mortar and Pestle
4. Add Fennel Seeds, Fenugreek, Oregano, Parsley, Onions, Maple Syrup and Olive Oil
5. Add Egg and combine mixture with hands until evenly combined
6. Form into small Burger and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet
7. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes depending on how large you make the burgers
8. Once removed from oven allow to rest before serving
